I have written this book after being inspired by God to do so. It is a short story of my life growing up in search of love and acceptance. I have never done anything with my life except cause pain to others as well as myself. I never thought that there was hope for me after living a life consumed with alcohol, drugs, and immoral living.

My friend, if you are currently living a life of pain and misery, a life that you believe has no other hope, please read the testimony of my life and my experience with Jesus Christ. My desire is for those that have traveled down the same pathway of crime and wretchedness to know that hope can be found in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.

Jesus is waiting for all that will call upon Him for help. I can testify to the fact that it is scary to travel down on unfamiliar road. You see, I knew that to continue my chaotic life of drugs and corruption would, in the end, only leads to death. Sadly, because I was familiar with this environment, I was all to willing to except this fate.

There are so many people in the world today that feel comfortable living abusive, corrupt, and destructive lifestyles that they are afraid to venture down a different path, even if it means a better life. They know what to expect in the lifestyle in which they are currently living, and to travel down a new path is frightening. I know it certainly was for me.

It is now my desire to reach these people by sharing the love Jesus Christ has shown me as He has lifted me up out of a life of misery, healing my broken heart and leading me down a new road of peace. A few passages from the book of Psalms sums it up:

“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry
clay, and set my feet upon a rock, (and) established my goings.”
                                                                    Psalms 40:2

“He (God) will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise
their prayer. This shall be written for the generation to come
and the people which shall e created shall praise the Lord. For
He hath looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from
heaven did the Lord behold the earth. to hear the groaning of
the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death.”

Psalms 102:17-20

May your faith be increased as you read how God heard my cry and reached out to help me.

She was raised in New York in a physically and mentally abusive family. Her mother was an alcoholic and a very short tempered woman. I don’t know anything about her father, since she has never spoken of him.

At an early age my mother rebelled and got pregnant when she was only 13 years old. She didn’t know what to do, scared and confused she entered a Catholic convent. Here they helped her through her pregnancy and found someone to adopt the son she gave birth to. When she was 18 she left the convent and was looking for a way to get out of the city.

Mom started dating a man who served in the US Navy on an aircraft carrier called the USS Exess. They moved to near the harbor, for his ship was docked in that area. Shortly after, my mother secured false identification, that showed her to be old enough to wed without parental permission--and that she did.

Not long after their marriage they moved again to a small town and happily settled in to raise a family with me and my sister, Gidget.

Perhaps the quick growth of the family was to much stress, or there were other troubles in their young marriage, but shortly thereafter my parents separated. My mother kept no information or pictures to show me. Only recently has she shared the basic circumstances of my birth. In fact, imagination has filled in the possible happenstance of their actual meeting. It is my prayer that one day I might meet my father.
